GreenSquare is bringing 12 new affordable homes to Compton Bassett as part of a regeneration project.
The project is replacing six older properties and garages at Briar Leaze in Compton Bassett, and constructing 12 new homes, available for a mixture of affordable rent, shared ownership and outright sale.
Demolition work on the properties has finished and construction work is now underway at the development, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
Peter Crouch, new business and development manager at GreenSquare (pictured) said: “We are pleased to have now begun on site at Briar Leaze and are excited about pushing forward with this development which will make a real difference.
“We have worked closely with local residents, the Parish Council and Wiltshire Council to explore opportunities to bring more affordable homes to the village. We have welcomed their input, and also their patience and support in getting the project off the ground.”
The new homes are being constructed by GreenSquare Homes, the in-house development arm of GreenSquare Group.
Briar Leaze is one of a number of recent developments in Wiltshire. In Calne, the Woodroffe Square development is now successfully completed and has seen 24 high quality, affordable homes built, replacing older garages and properties and significantly improving the area; and at Middlefields in Chippenham, GreenSquare has begun on site building 35 new homes for rent and shared ownership.
