Children at a primary school in Calne have been learning all about site safety – thanks to a special visit from Ivor and Honor Goodsite, and staff from GreenSquare.
As part of the Considerate Constructors scheme, staff from GreenSquare joined the Scheme’s mascots, Ivor and Honor, to give a presentation to pupils at Priestley Primary School during their assembly.
During the lively presentation, GreenSquare's Technical Project Manager, Tim Bircher, joined Ivor and Honor to help the children learn more about the potential dangers of construction sites and the importance of site safety.
GreenSquare's in-house development arm, GreenSquare Homes, is currently on site at Woodroffe Square, just next to the school, where they are building 9 flats and 15 houses, which will be available for rent and shared ownership.
Tim Bircher said: “We want to ensure that children and young people understand that they should never view building sites as a place to play. It is essential that they are aware of the potential hazards involved with all types of construction activity.
"The children at Priestley Primary School really seemed to enjoy the presentation - we're glad that Honor and Ivor Goodsite were on hand to really bring the message to life!"
With the success of this site safety presentation, the team from GreenSquare Homes, including Honor and Ivor, are hoping to deliver these presentations in other schools in areas where GreenSquare has development sites.
