Hundreds enjoy Rose Hill's festivities

Father Christmas and his elves were joined by Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and GreenSquare’s chief executive Howard Toplis at the weekend, to officially switch on Rose Hill’s Christmas lights.

Around 500 residents from across Rose Hill turned out to enjoy the festivities, which included carol singing with the Rose Hill Community Choir, a performance by a local tap dancing group, and an international food festival.

Fran Gardner, Rose Hill Community Worker at GreenSquare and the event organiser, said: “We were absolutely delighted with the turn out! People really got into the spirit of things and enjoyed all the good food and entertainment throughout the evening.

“Everyone in our community celebrates Christmas in different ways, but it was fantastic to see so many people of all cultures coming together with family and friends to have fun.”

The event was supported by 2Cousins Access, DW Contractors, SSE Contracting and Dave Seamer Entertainments, who all lent their time, staff and equipment to the GreenSquare Lottery team to ensure the event was a success.

Fran added: “We are extremely grateful to these local businesses for their wonderful support.”
