Getting involved in the Great British Spring Clean 2019

GreenSquare staff and residents will be taking action together by litter picking in their local areas for Keep Britain Tidy’s annual campaign.

The Great British Spring Clean takes place from 23 March-23 April 2019 and encourages people from across the UK to help improve the environment on their doorstep.

During the month GreenSquare has organised litter picking sessions with Wiltshire customers, and the first takes place on Saturday 23 March at 10am in Lid Brook in Calne.

High-vis, litter pickers and bags will be provided giving participants the chance to get outdoors and spruce up their local area.

The other sessions are at:

  • Barrow Green in Chippenham (meet by the play area) on Saturday 6 April at 10am
  • Pockeridge Road in Corsham (onboard the Big Blue Bus) on Tuesday 9 April at 2pm
  • Dogridge in Purton on Thursday 11 April at 11am
  • Colemans Farm Community Centre, Salisbury on Saturday 13 April at 10am.

GreenSquare is also holding a lunchtime litter pick for staff at its Methuen Park office in Chippenham on Friday 12 April. Staff will be teaming up, along with employees from other businesses at on site, to spend a few hours giving the grounds a real tidy up.

Last year more than 374,000 people took part in the Great British Spring Clean across 13,500 events. This year the Keep Britain Tidy charity are aiming to beat this and get 500,000 people taking part.
