GreenSquare Homes has started construction of new homes on land at Rabley Wood in Marlborough.
Now that enabling works have been completed at the development, known as Hawthorn Meadows, work is underway to build 39 new homes, which will include 16 for affordable rent and shared ownership. Plans also include new public open space and a new play area.
GreenSquare purchased the land at Rabley Wood in 2019 and Wiltshire Council approved planning permission for the new properties in autumn 2020. Hawthorn Meadows will comprise two, three and four-bedroom homes, all built to the highest standards.
Tony Knight, Operations Manager at GreenSquare, said: "We're pleased to be getting started on site to bring much needed new homes, including affordable housing, to Marlborough.
"We will be working closely with the local community and those living in Rabley Wood to try to minimise disruption as construction work begins. This will include making every effort to ensure that the area around the site is kept clean and tidy.”
Last year, GreenSquare Homes asked Marlborough Town Council to invite the community to submit ideas for the two new street at the development.
Elsewhere in Wiltshire, GreenSquare Homes is preparing to start on site at Burton Hill in Malmesbury to build 27 specialist new homes specifically for the over-55s.
