The Venue@Cowley launches website for online bookings

The Venue@Cowley, an exciting new community venue in central Cowley, Oxford, has launched its new website, where people can find out more about the rooms available to hire and make bookings.

The website – www.venuecowley.co.uk – offers online booking for individuals, community groups and businesses, who are looking to hire a room at The Venue. It also has information about room capacities, layouts, hire charges and availability.

The Venue will be available to use from 22 May onwards but you can make your bookings now!

The state-the-art community facilities, which include a main hall, four rooms, a modern kitchen, gardens and internet access, have been built, and are being run, by GreenSquare. They are located on the ground floor of a development of 40 new flats that the housing group has built on Barns Road, known as Barns Place.

Richard Grant, Marketing and Community Development Worker for The Venue, said: “The Venue@Cowley is a fantastic meeting place and base for local people to enjoy a range of social, cultural and educational activities at the heart of the community.

“Ideal for all sorts of meetings and conferences, learning and exercise classes, community activities and parties, the rooms – or the whole venue  are available for anyone can book for whatever purpose they wish.

“We’re keen to hear from local people about the types of activities they’d like to see happening at The Venue, so if anyone has any ideas, please do get in touch.”

An grand opening event is taking place at The Venue@Cowley on Saturday 4 June, which will also include a presentation ceremony for those who’ve been nominated as a Cowley Hero (click here for more).

The Venue@Cowley is set to feature artwork by internationally acclaimed artist, Martin Richman. Specialising in light and sculpture, Martin is famous for creating eye-catching pieces that illuminate the space and link with the local surroundings and has had work featured in the Olympic Park and the BBC’s Broadcasting House.
