The final development on the former Oxford United Football Club site, the Manor Ground, is now in full swing with the first of the two blocks of flats clearly visible.
GreenSquare is developing the 27 new homes comprising 12 one-bed flats and 15 two-bed flats, including shared ownership, rent to home buy, and social rent. The Manor Ground was the home of Oxford United (previously known as Headington United) between 1925 and 2001, before moving to the Kassam Stadium.
The Manor Ground site is situated next door to the Manor Hospital, and its shared ownership units are initially being offered to key workers at the hospital.
"The scheme creates a high-quality and architecturally-stimulating environment - and it meets Level 4 of the code for Sustainable Homes, ensuring energy efficiency and sustainability," said Andy Sumser, GreenSquare's project manager. "This development also suits modern lifestyle requirements, with ample car parking and secure cycle parking, as well as the provision of onsite refuse and re-cycling storage facilities."
The scheme started in January this year and is expected to be completed before Christmas 2012.
