GreenSquare Homes has won a health and safety award for the second year running from the UK’s largest construction safety group.

The Building Safety Group (BSG) recently held its fifth annual Health and Safety Awards ceremony (6 November) to mark the achievements and excellence of its members in work-related health and safety performance.

GreenSquare Homes was the winner, for the second year in a row, in the category 'Member of the year – Central and South’. The awards were held at the British Motor Museum in Warwick.

To be eligible for this award, the BSG members needed to demonstrate that they had a framework in place to improve safety and health performance during all stages of a construction project including; planning, design and post construction.

Barry Wood, GreenSquare's managing director development (pictured third on leftt) was at the event with operations manager Tony Knight (second on left), site manager Martin Bance (first on right), and John Mumford, contracts manager (first on left). Barry said: "It is an excellent achievement for us to win the award for a second year. It demonstrates the continued efforts of our GreenSquare Homes colleagues in making sure that health and safety is a top priority in everything that they do.”

BSG Managing Director, Paul Kimpton said: “The BSG Awards ceremony was once again a national celebration of our members’ dedicated commitment to Health and Safety in construction. Recognised award winners such as GreenSquare Homes should be immensely proud of their achievement and highly commended for their admirable approach to reducing risk in the workplace.

“It is BSG Members like GreenSquare Homes who make a significant contribution to raising the bar when it comes to health and safety standards across the sector, and we offer them our congratulations.”

GreenSquare Homes already celebrated recognition in the summer when two of their site managers each won a Pride in the Job Awards 2019 from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Paul Edwards and Martin Bance won Quality Awards for building homes of exceptional quality at GreenSquare Homes developments - Blunsdon Meadow and Hares Chase.
