GreenSquare supports Ark T Centre's crowdfunding efforts

GreenSquare has pledged £500 to Ark T Centre, to help it reach its £10,000 fundraising target and enable the centre to run more projects and support more people in Oxford.

The Ark T Centre is a creative arts project that believes that arts and creativity are important vehicles for people to discover new things about themselves and unlock their potential to create change. It runs creative workshops, dance workshops; and music classes. It has a recording studio for young musicians; rehearsal space for theatre and dance; a performance and concert area; and studios for a group of resident artists. The Broom Tree Café, at the heart of the Centre, provides space for people to meet each other and enjoy delicious home cooked food, or just relax with a cup of coffee. It works with volunteers to provide a crucial place to be while they re-build their lives, move on and get back to employment.

Through the online crowdfunding site Crowdfunder, Ark T is aiming to raise £10,000 - to add to a further £10,000 it has received as a donation - to be able to fund additional projects and help more people in need of support in the community.

Wendy Spray, Head of Community Involvement at GreenSquare, said; "We are pleased to make this donation to Ark T. Their projects provide invaluable support through the medium of arts and creativity. We work closely with them in Oxford and recently they have been involved in the planning for how we will use new community rooms that GreenSquare is building as part of our new development of 40 flats on Barns Road in Cowley.

"I would like to encourage others to support however they can."

Henrietta Gill, Community Development Project Manager at Ark T, said: "With only a few days left to pledge, we are calling on people to make a donation to help us to face the future with confidence. We work at a personal, individualised level, mixing the benefit of the space that we can offer, with the support and nurturing to help people move on, and this money will enable us to help so many more.”

The deadline for donations is Friday 31 July. If Ark T doesn’t meet its target of £10,000, it won't receive any of the money that’s been pledged so far. If you'd like to make a contribution, please visit http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/the-ark-t-centres-future
