Two site managers at GreenSquare Homes have been recognised for building homes of exceptional quality in the first round of the Pride in the Job Awards 2019 from the National House Building Council (NHBC).
Paul Edwards and Martin Bance have each won a Quality Award for their management of GreenSquare Home developments-Blunsdon Meadow and Hares Chase.
Nearly 450 UK site managers have won a Quality Award in the first round, representing the top 3% of the 16,000 site managers entered. Being selected as one of the UK’s top site managers is testament to their commitment to delivering quality homes for residents.
Now in its 39th year, the Awards are the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry. Judging for the Awards is rigorous, beginning in July 2018, with each site manager assessed across these six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
Speaking about his win, site manager Paul said: “When I got the phone call from the NHBC I was flabbergasted to learn I‘d won the Quality Award for Blunsdon Meadow. It feels amazing that we are producing good quality homes to a very high standard. This is my first award for the NHBC Pride in Job Awards and hopefully the first of many! I am proud to have achieved this.”
"I am over the moon", said site manager Martin Bance on his win. "It is great for GreenSquare Homes as it really shows that we are providing a quality product. I have won awards from the NHBC before so it is great to win another!"
Paul and Martin will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards that will be announced an event in Bristol in October, with the Supreme Award winners unveiled at a gala ceremony in January 2020.
Tony Knight, operations manager at GreenSquare Homes said: “I am so pleased for Paul and Martin. We are a relatively small developer, so for two of our site managers to achieve this sort of recognition is fantastic. It is a testament to their excellence and their commitment to delivering high quality homes, built at the highest standards – something we are very proud of.”
Commenting on the Awards, NHBC Chief Executive Steve Wood said: “A site manager’s role is undoubtedly one of the toughest in house building and their drive for excellence is very much at the heart of the competition. Receiving a Quality Award is a great achievement for any site manager. It’s no surprise that Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of customer satisfaction as these homes are without doubt among the best the UK has to offer.”
Blunsdon Meadow is GreenSquare Homes 52-home development in Blunsdon, Swindon, due to be completed in spring next year; and Hares Chase is a 70-home development in the historic town of Cricklade, Wiltshire.
Both developments offer a range of properties for homebuyers to suit a variety of lifestyles, from two, three and four bedroom homes to bungalows, and are available for a mixture of sale and shared ownership.
GreenSquare Homes is the in-house development arm of GreenSquare Group. Profits from selling new homes are used to support growth to ensure the Group’s ability to build more affordable homes for a range of customers across the South West.
