Domestic abuse awareness week

GreenSquare's supported housing team is leading our support for Wiltshire domestic abuse awareness week, which commenced on Monday 19 November.

As part of the campaign, coordinated by Wiltshire Community Safety Partnership, a film has been released online featuring pre-recorded interviews highlighting a family’s experience of living with domestic abuse; how they made the decision to leave; and what hopes they have for their futures. These three stories are incredible powerful and emotive and aim to encourage others listening who may find themselves associating with some of the experiences being talked about and empower them to seek help.

In addition, this interactive video for the 'Support a Friend' campaign is the latest phase of the 1in4women campaign, launched by national domestic violence charity Refuge and Avon; how you respond to the questions asked will determine how this powerful and informative video plays out: www.1in4women.com/support-a-friend.php.

Wiltshire Council has also released some new poster materials to help raise awareness – you can see them here and here.

Ending the week, there will be awareness raising and fund raising at Sainsbury's stores: Devizes on Friday 23 November and Bradford on Avon on Saturday 24 November.
