Girlguiding's Cricklade Rainbow Group visited residents at GreenSquare's Heberden House this week (18 July) to complete their ‘cupcake' badge.
The Rainbows invited the residents of Heberden House to join them in the communal lounge at the scheme, where they helped to make pom pom decorations for their cupcakes – which were then enjoyed by all.
The 12 girls, who were all aged between five and seven, spent an hour in the lounge creating the brightly coloured pom poms and decided to donate their session membership fees, totalling £12.10, to the Alzheimers Cupcake Challenge.
Jeanette Hughes, Community Officer at GreenSquare, said: “This is the second time that the Rainbows have visited the residents at Heberden House – last time they visited it was for their ‘kindness’ badge. We were more than happy to welcome them back again and it was wonderful to have them all visit the scheme.
“Everyone really enjoyed themselves. The Rainbows really brought a smile to everyone’s faces… and we all enjoyed the cupcakes too!”
