Competition winners have posters displayed on hoardings

Posters drawn by children at Priestley Primary School in Calne are being proudly displayed on the hoardings at GreenSquare's development site next to the school.

In July, as part of the Considerate Constructors scheme, staff from GreenSquare joined the Scheme’s mascots, Ivor and Honor Goodsite, to give a presentation to pupils at Priestley Primary School during their assembly, focusing on the potential dangers of construction sites and the importance of site safety.

Following the presentation, the pupils were tasked with creating a poster about what they'd learnt at the session. (Pictured) Benjamin Johnston (age 6) and Daisy Mae Bidmead (age 7) both have their posters displayed on the hoardings.

Daisy Mae said: "I'm happy that my picture was chosen and I've already told some of my friends that it’s up there."

GreenSquare's in-house development arm, GreenSquare Homes, is currently on site at Woodroffe Square, just next to the school, where they are building 9 flats and 15 houses, which will be available for rent and shared ownership.

Ian Potts, GreenSquare Homes site manager at Woodroffe Square (also pictured), said: "We were happy to be invited to Priestley Primary School to talk to the children about site safety, which we did so with the help of our special guests Ivor and Honor Goodsite.

"We had so many brilliant entries for our poster competition, it was tough to choose just a few to display on our hoardings. However, we are pleased to have some of them up here for passers-by to see, helping to promote site safety in the local community."

With the success of this site safety presentation, the team from GreenSquare Homes, including Honor and Ivor, are hoping to deliver these presentations in other schools in areas where GreenSquare has development sites.
