This winter we want to remind you of some of the risks that are more likely this time of year and how you can reduce them.
As the winter weather draws in, the number of falls and slips across the UK increases each year. To reduce the risk to you, we will be implementing our snow, ice, and leaves policy.
As part of this, we will be:
* Weekdays only and dependant on colleague safety.
We ask that you also consider the dangers that come from bad weather and wear suitable clothing and footwear on these days.
This time of year is also when we begin to decorate our homes for the Christmas season. Our Building Safety team would also like to remind you of some key safety tips when using electrical lights.
In case of an emergency:
If somebody does suffer from an electric shock, make sure you switch off the electricity first, then remove the casualty from danger if safe to do so and call the emergency services.
Make sure you know where your fuse box is located so you can reach it quickly in an emergency.
Winter can be a wonderful time of year. We hope that with these procedures and tips we can help you to keep safe this season.
