Do you know we can help make changes (called adaptations) to your home if you, or a member of your household, needs them because of a disability or illness?

There are lots of ways we can make your home easier for you to use. These can include:

  • installing grab rails
  • installing a ramp
  • providing handrails
  • installing lever taps
  • adjusting the height of electrical sockets

All GreenSquareAccord tenants are eligible for adaptations in their property. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer this service to shared owners or leaseholders.

The adaption you request must be suitable for the property you live in. If there are any concerns about this, then we can arrange for a surveyor to visit your home.

Each request will be reviewed in line with budget and suitability. In some cases, we may need to speak to an occupational therapist to make sure what we are installing is appropriate.

Sometimes we might be able to help with larger works in your property, however, GreenSquareAccord will need to assess each request on an individual basis and work with an occupational therapist.

If you want to have an adaption fitted yourself, then you will need to gain written permission from GreenSquareAccord before any work is carried out.
