Put simply, regeneration is not just about building quality new homes that meet a range of needs; it is also about investing in and shaping neighbourhoods to bring social and economic benefits. These things together are what make a truly great place to live.
GreenSquare carries out regeneration projects across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire; a mixture of small, medium and large-scale projects that add real value.
We have a long-term vision for, and commitment to, sustainable regeneration which improves the quality of life for our customers and communities, and makes the most of the land and assets that we own.
The majority of the areas we work in already benefit from strong communities; when we regenerate, it is important to us that we both maintain and enhance these communities.
In recent years we have worked on a number of different projects from the regeneration of a former hospital site in Gloucestershire, to a demolition and re-build scheme in Calne, Wiltshire, making 24 new homes available for rent and shared ownership.
Successful regeneration needs a partnership approach throughout the whole process – from consultation to development to ongoing management; we work closely with local authorities and partners on our projects as well as actively involving both our existing and wider communities.
One of our largest-scale projects replacing 65 older properties with 109 new homes for rent and shared ownership.
“When we first heard that there were plans to regenerate the area, we weren’t sure what to expect. But once things started happening, we began to get more excited. Lots of people living in Culverhay have been really impressed with the look of the new properties.”
“I’ve lived in Culverhay for the past 16 years and my family lives here too, so I’m glad to be able to stay in the area. I have much more space in this new bungalow and a lovely big garden too. I couldn’t be happier.”
We redeveloped older properties and garages to create 24 new homes for rent and shared ownership with parking and outside space.
“I’ve lived in Calne all my life, and had been in my previous house here for over 13 years. It will be nice to have a fresh start in a new home.”
“We used to live in a top floor flat so had no garden, the conditions weren’t great either, it was very cold, whereas here it’s warm and cosy. We’re friendly with the neighbours and it’s a nice area, the houses look good.”
