Women's refuge

You may not want to leave but are unsure about your options. You might just want to talk to another person about your situation. Experienced staff will be able to listen to you and provide information on choices available to you.

For male victims of abuse, we can put you in touch with appropriate accommodation-based and Outreach services.

Phone 01249 714873.

A refuge is a safe house for women and children escaping domestic abuse. A place where women can be sure they are safe, and where they can access emotional and practical support from staff who understand what they have been through.

Refuge staff can assist in many areas:

  • Help in finding a safe new home
  • Budgeting and welfare benefits
  • Accessing health services
  • Finding nurseries and schools
  • Accessing local community and cultural services
  • Gaining legal advice, including accompanying women to appointments and court
  • Safety planning
  • Training, education and employment

Our Wiltshire Refuges and Places of Safety in Gloucestershire can provide support and safe accommodation.
