Our mission is to increase the opportunities for people to thrive by building great homes and communities. We want to increase the number of new good-quality, affordable homes for people in housing need in our area.
Our focus is on ‘filling in the gaps’ across the areas we currently cover. By 2025, we want to have added 2000 new affordable homes. This will include homes for low-cost home ownership as we feel this is an important part of meeting housing need. And developing homes for sale allows us to provide more homes and opportunities in the future by making profits to reinvest.
This page gives information about development schemes we are proposing. These may be at different stages: in some cases, we may be carrying out early consultation with local people and in others we may have submitted a planning application and be awaiting its approval.

GreenSquare is proposing to build 35 affordable homes on land at Middlefields, just off Hungerdown Lane, including 25 houses and 10 flats – which will be a mix of properties for affordable rent and shared ownership.
Also on the site and alongside the residential development, Lidl – the supermarket chain – is proposing to build a food store with associated car parking.
Jam Factory, Easterton - Phase 2
GreenSquare was granted planning permission to build 38 new homes at the site – and we completed 12 new homes at the development in the first phase of work.
The proposed layout for the original site layout remains largely unchanged, with an application to build an additional four homes at the development – bringing the total to 42 homes – and to make some general improvements to the house types and design.
We have submitted planning to demolish six homes and garages at Briar Leaze, Compton Bassett. Our plans are to construct five affordable rent homes, five Low Cost Homes Ownership, and two outright sale.

Severn Meadows, near Sharpness
We have now submitted our planning application to Stroud District Council (ref: S.15/0735/OUT - Land adjacent to B4066, Bays Hill, Newtown, Berkeley).
The planning application submitted is for outline planning of employment land, park land, football stadium for Sharpness AFC and up to 375 new homes, including up to 30% affordable.
