Shared ownership
Shared ownership (New Build HomeBuy) enables you to part-buy and part-rent your own home. It's an ideal option for people who cannot afford to buy a property outright on the open market, because you buy a share in a property and pay a subsidised rent on the remainder. You have the same rights and responsibilities as any other homeowner. You can gradually buy more shares if you want to, until you own the whole property. To be able to buy a house under this scheme, you must be in housing need and unable to afford to buy a home on the open market.

How to apply in Oxford
If you're in Oxfordshire, you can apply by logging on to www.catalysthomebuy.co.uk and completing their online application form. Alternatively you can call Catalyst on 0845 6017729. Once registered, you then let us know.Greensquare Group Greensquare Group
How to apply in Swindon, South Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire
If you're in Swindon or Wiltshire, you can apply by logging on to www.southwesthomes.org.uk and filling in an online application form. Or you can freephone 0300 100 0021 to ask for a hardcopy. Once registered you then let us know.

We also offer resales of existing shared ownership properties. To be considered for these properties, you need to be registered on your local authority waiting list and with Catalyst Housing Group Ltd (in the Oxford area) or Southwest Homes (in Swindon and Wiltshire).

With Rent to Homebuy, you start off renting and then purchase the property within a 5-year period.

Through our Intermediate Rent scheme, you can rent a brand new home for less than the market rate. The rent charged is lower than you would expect to pay for a similar home if you were renting from a private landlord - and you also have the assurance that your home is managed by Westlea Housing.
