GreenSquare Group has acquired heating contractor and consultant G W Sparrow to enhance its in-house service offering.

G W Sparrow is a family business, established in 1974, providing plumbing and heating services across Wiltshire. Managing director Robert Sparrow will continue to head the business as it develops further.

Commenting on the transaction, Tom Pritchard, GreenSquare's director of commercial management, said: "We are delighted to bring this successful and profitable business into GreenSquare's ownership via our commercial subsidiary Oakus. GW Sparrow is already a company with firm foundations and a long-established customer base and we think that, under our ownership, the company has great scope to further develop and grow in the future.

"The company has increasingly been involved in renewable energy installations and this is of particular interest to us because it will be brilliant to have this expertise within the Group."
