GreenSquare is moving forward with plans to regenerate Woodroffe Square in Calne and is inviting local residents to come along to a consultation event to find out more about the proposals.
The Woodroffe Square consultation is taking place at Colemans Farm Learning and Community Centre in Angel Close, Calne on 1 March from 4pm until 7pm.
Angie Jones, Regeneration Officer at GreenSquare, said: "Our plans are still at an early stage, however, we are committed to improving the area for existing and future residents. This consultation event will be a good opportunity for people to tell us what they think of our initial proposals, what areas they’d like to see improved, and talk to us about any issues they might have."
The proposed plans will involve the demolition of garages and numbers 49 to 60. Angie added: “We will be working with the residents of these homes to ensure that they have suitable alternative housing and will support them through the process.”
GreenSquare has brought together a project team of consultants to consider design, layouts, ecology and landscaping and will be working with both the Town and Wiltshire Councils on the design of the development.
Earlier in February, site investigations were carried out at Woodroffe Square, which involved taking soil samples and digging some trenches and boreholes to take a closer look at the condition of the ground, to help GreenSquare design the most appropriate drainage solutions.
