GreenSquare vice-chair 'proud' of MBE in New Year Honours

The Vice-Chair of the GreenSquare Board, Wendy Hall, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list "for services to the voluntary sector in Wiltshire".
Wendy said: "I have always wanted to make a difference to people's lives and in particular to those people on low and no income. So it is wonderful to be acknowledged with an MBE for all my efforts."
Wendy recently retired as the chief executive of the charity mediationplus, a charity for children and families that finds solutions to family and community conflict in relationships through providing mediation, counselling, supervised contact, and information sessions for parents. She has been a non-executive director of the Wiltshire Probation Board and an NHS Trust and has chaired the Audit Committees of both organisations.
She has been involved as a chief executive or trustee in various charitable agencies such as the Wiltshire Alcohol Advisory Centre and the Swindon Citizens Advice Bureau, and is also currently a member of Swindon Borough Council's Local Remuneration Panel, recommending councillors' allowances. And as Vice Chair of GreenSquare she chairs the Group Remuneration Committee and carries a portfolio for Value For Money and Health & Safety.
"When I first got the letter from the Cabinet Office on behalf of the Queen, I did not believe it and had to ask my other half if he thought it was genuine or not," said Wendy. "It has taken a while for it all to sink in but now I am very much looking forward to going to St James Palace, and getting a suitable outfit to wear!
"I am very proud to have received an MBE, but like to think that it's not just for me. It is for all those teams of staff that I have worked with who also gave their energy and commitment to making a difference, and continue to do so, like the GreenSquare staff teams. The MBE is really for them too."
