GreenSquare hosts Design Champions seminar

GreenSquare recently hosted a Design Champions seminar in conjunction with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). Attendees can download the seminar presentations from the links below.

The Design Champions' Network for Housing Associations was established in 2005, and is now operated through the Homes and Communities Agency with events supported by individual Registered Social Landlords (RSLs). The Network promotes the sharing of knowledge and its aim is to achieve good design in the housing industry.

The conference was held at STEAM in Swindown on 14 October 2009.

The speakers were:

Arthur Bland - a local builder whose skills are based on a wide and varied practical experience from being involved in building and environmental concerns.
Peter Chmiel - who plays a key role in all design aspects of Grant Associates and takes a keen interest in all horticultural elements.
Ben Cook - who has worked within the house-building industry for over ten years and has spent time working in every part of the industry.
Ben Gill - who runs the One Planet Programme, overseeing the setting of the Common International Tragets and ensuring all projects are on track to meet them.
Chris Hitchings - who is in overall charge of The New Swindon Company, progressing projects from masterplanning through to the development of key regeneration sites within Swindon town centre.
Justin Milward - who combines the roles of regional Policy Officer and Land & Property Manager for the Woodland Trust in the south west.
